Quebec-based duo Fjord are masters at creating lush, ambient pop, rich in both synthesized and recorded textures. Textures, in fact, was their 2016 debut album that launched their career with 10+ million Spotify streams, earning them nods from The FADER and Huffington Post and catalyzing an extensive tour across Canada. Fjord share their first single since 2016, "Lay Down Your Veil" with an accompanying music video directed and animated by Paul Laberge (who's done videos for Porter Robinson, Elton John, Tinashe, Imagine Dragons). The video has yet over 70thousand clicks and the feedback is amazing. The abstract video mirrors the cinematic quality of the gorgeous, downtempo hybrid electronic-ambient pop track dense with layers of juxtaposing crystalline and coarse vocals, rolling drums, and vivid orchestral arrangements. "Lay Down Your Veil" is the first single off Fjord's forthcoming Shallow Waters EP, which was written in Quebec City, produced in London with the help of Tim Bran (Bloc Party, London Grammar, La Roux), and features live string recordings from the Quebec Symphonic Orchestra. The band is currently touring as support for Milk & Bone on their 2000cap venue tour and most shows are soldout.
